Full Job Description

First United Methodist Church of Mount Pleasant is seeking a friendly, organized, and motivated individual to serve as our next office manager!

The Office Manager is a key person in the organizational functions of First UMC. This position directs physical operations of the church and plays an important role in the communication and coordination of church functioning.

The minimum educational requirement for this position is a high school diploma or equivalent.

Clerical and/or administrative experience is preferred.

The office manager will work up to 30 hours per week. The schedule is negotiable, generally between 8 am-5 pm, Monday-Friday. However, an alternative work schedule may be arranged by mutual agreement of the pastor and the office manager based on the needs of the church.

Must possess excellent grammar and communication skills and demonstrate these skills in conversation, preparing written materials, and designing/distributing various electronic communications.
Willingness to serve and work effectively with the church, its members, and the community.
Collaborative team member that can achieve position requirements independently and in a self-motivated manner.
Serve as the liaison between the church and entities (FUMC Preschool & Hope Childcare Center) within the building.
Advanced organizational skills (planning, time management, goal setting, and prioritizing).
Collecting all necessary information and preparing Conference, District, and Church reports as required.
Act as direct supervision of custodial staff.
Monitor weekly sign-up for Sunday worship volunteers and ensure they are filled by Thursday and listed in the bulletin.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
