Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are looking for an energetic Team Lead for our Huntley Bookstore on the campus of Claremont Colleges in Claremont, California.

The Team Lead works closely with the Store Manager to receive, price, and stock merchandise to meet the needs of the store's customers and drive sales and profits. Assist Team Members with completing the work within the store. Ensures all team members receive the appropriate training and education, including ongoing compliance training. Acts as leader on duty, responding to customer and team member concerns in the absence of the Store Manager, opening and closing the store, and ensuring all bookstore property and team members are safe and secure.

Duties

Provide excellent customer service to students, college staff and visitors.
Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) transactions, and shift management.
Implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets through effective merchandising, marketing initiatives, and promotional activities.
Participate in pricing changes, merchandise processing and visual merchandising.
Manage and fulfill ecommerce orders.

Requirements

A passion for delivering customer service with a smile!
A hunger to learn and put new skills into action.
1-3 years of relevant experience.
Associate's Degree or equivalent preferred.
Able to consistently walk and stand, lift 25-50 pounds, and move merchandise using proper equipment.
Basic computer skills, including the ability to create and save text documents and to create and send emails.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours. Although weekends are not common, we do have special events at times of the year that require all hands on deck.
