Clarinda Regional Health Center (CRHC) is looking for a full-time (40 hours per week) Manager for our Physicians Clinic. This is an exempt position with a typical work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional hours may be required as necessary to meet the needs of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience
- Graduate from an approved school/college of nursing or related training (i.e. Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner)
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree with comparable work experience and a commitment to complete within negotiated timeframe preferred.
- Two (2) years’ experience in rural health nursing preferred
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Iowa, or higher degree licensed in the state of Iowa (i.e. Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner)

WORK SCHEDULE & SHIFT REQUIREMENTS:
The facility operates 24/7; however, work schedules may vary based on departmental needs to ensure the highest standard of patient care and operational efficiency. Flexibility will be expected.

- Position is classified as exempt and not eligible for overtime in accordance with labor laws.

Supervises all aspects of department operations effectively and efficiently.

Supervises clinic schedule, including review of scheduled appointments and scheduling of staff

Utilizes the nursing process, for the performance of patient care, to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care to achieve prioritized patient outcomes.
- Performs clinic admission process, including a full set of vital signs, completion of medication reconciliation, and assessment of allergies.
- Performs patient rounding for all patient assignments.
- Performs patient/family teaching for assessed knowledge deficits.
- Evaluates patient progress toward desired outcomes prior to discharge.
- Demonstrates personal accountability in the delivery of patient care in a competent, professional, and compassionate manner.
Communicates effectively.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with other health team members regarding patient condition, nursing plan of care, patient satisfactions needs and recommendations for meeting identified outcomes.
- Follows approved shift report format when communicating patient information.
- Identifies and recognizes abnormal symptoms/changes in patient condition, established priorities, and takes appropriate action. Appropriately reports condition changes to medical provider.
Promotes and ensures patient safety in performance of all responsibilities.
- Administers medications, treatments, and procedures in a timely and safe manner according to physician orders and nursing policy.
- Demonstrates proficient technical/clinical skills and operational knowledge of equipment on unit.
- Informs and involves Chief or direct report regarding patient care issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Utilizes proper body mechanics, transfer/lifting techniques, and appropriate equipment to minimize fall risk to patient and injury to self.
Recruits and develops a qualified and productive workforce.
- Maintains department job descriptions to represent positions accurately and clearly.
- Recruits, interviews, and selects qualified candidates following established hiring practices and guidelines.
- Orients new employees in a thorough manner to department and organizational operations, policies, and procedures.
- Provides training to department staff in an appropriate and thorough manner.
