Entegra Energy Solutions is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain, repair, and help coordinate the growing fleet that powers our underground utility construction operations.
This position combines the responsibilities of a heavy equipment mechanic, fleet maintenance coordinator, and field service mechanic, offering a diverse work environment where no two days are the same.
As Entegra continues to grow, we're investing heavily in our people and equipment—including the construction of a brand-new 16,000-square-foot maintenance and operations facility, scheduled for completion later this year. Once completed, this state-of-the-art shop will provide a clean, organized, and modern workspace equipped for preventive maintenance, diagnostics, major repairs, fabrication, and fleet management.

Position Overview
This position offers the opportunity to split time between our maintenance facility and active construction projects depending on operational needs.
Some weeks you'll be performing scheduled maintenance and major repairs in the shop. Other times you'll provide field service support by troubleshooting equipment on active jobsites, ensuring our crews remain productive and our fleet stays reliable.

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drivetrains, and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures in both shop and field environments.
- Perform field service repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Conduct equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs before failures occur.
- Maintain accurate service records and equipment history.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules.
- Track inspections, warranties, repairs, and maintenance intervals.
- Order parts and coordinate outside vendor repairs when necessary.
- Help manage fleet readiness and equipment availability.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop.
Qualifications
Preferred Experience
- 3+ years of heavy equipment, diesel, agricultural, or construction equipment repair experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical troubleshooting, and construction equipment.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Experience using diagnostic software is beneficial but not required.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license required.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel to jobsites throughout North Central West Virginia and the surrounding Tri-State area as needed.
