Biology Instructor (full-time and part-time)
Georgia Piedmont Technical College has openings for part-time Biology Adjunct Instructors to teach all levels of biology on-line. Assignment(s) will begin in the summer or fall semester. Common courses in which we are in need:
- BIOL 1111: Biology 1 and Lab
- BIOL 2113: Anatomy and Physiology I and Lab
- BIOL 2114: Anatomy and Physiology II and Lab
- BIOL 2117: Intro to Microbiology and Lab
Job Duties:
- Plans and carries our instruction, instructional activities, and prepares learning materials for in-person or online courses.
- Provides instruction to students in the subject area.
- Prepares lesson plans (as needed) and maintains records and reports on student attainment, attendance, retention activities and progress.
- Utilizes approved online course template and syllabus format, maintains classroom order and discipline.
- Provides timely feedback to students
- Completes required trainings as necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline (Biology) or closely related subject matter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience teaching online, in-person, or hybrid courses is preferred.
- Experience using Blackboard (or a similar learning management system as a delivery method for classes) is recommended.
- Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
College Math Instructor Position (full-time)
Georgia Piedmont Technical College seeks a student-centered College Math Instructor committed to promoting academic excellence, quantitative reasoning, and student success. The successful candidate will deliver engaging instruction that develops students' mathematical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and quantitative literacy. Faculty members are expected to create meaningful learning experiences that prepare students for transfer, career advancement, and lifelong learning.
The instructor will contribute to the academic mission of the college through teaching, curriculum innovation, assessment activities, student support, and institutional service. This position requires collaboration with colleagues across academic disciplines to ensure students develop the mathematical competencies necessary for success in higher education, technical programs, and the workforce.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution; or
- Master's degree in another discipline with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics.
- Demonstrated proficiency in mathematical instruction and effective oral and written communication.
- Valid driver's license.

To qualify under the "18 graduate semester hours in mathematics" requirement, applicants must have completed graduate coursework in mathematics content rather than pedagogy.
Graduate-level mathematics courses are courses that focus on advanced mathematical theory, concepts, and applications. Examples include:

Courses that primarily focus on how to teach mathematics generally do not count toward the required 18 graduate semester hours. Examples include:

Curriculum Development and Assessment
- Develop instructional materials, course content, assignments, and assessments aligned with institutional and state standards.
- Participate in curriculum review and revision to ensure course relevance, rigor, and quality.
- Collaborate with faculty to assess student learning outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Utilize assessment data to strengthen instruction and improve student achievement.
- Ensure course content reflects current best practices in mathematics instruction and quantitative reasoning.
- Support accreditation and institutional effectiveness initiatives through documentation and reporting.
Student Success and Engagement
- Encourage students to develop confidence in mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, and quantitative problem-solving.
- Connect students with campus resources that support academic achievement and personal success.
- Participate in retention initiatives, student outreach activities, and academic support efforts.
- Assist students in developing the quantitative skills required for employment, transfer opportunities, and professional advancement.

- Recommend instructional tools and resources that improve student learning and engagement.
- Ensure instructional materials meet accessibility standards and support diverse learning needs.
18 graduate semester hours in mathematics:
Applicants must have at least 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework (typically 5000-level or above) in mathematics content from a regionally accredited institution. These courses should be equivalent to those offered by a graduate mathematics department and demonstrate advanced knowledge of mathematical theory, analysis, modeling, or application. The coursework must appear on the official graduate transcript and be distinguishable as mathematics content rather than education or instructional methodology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching mathematics at the college level.
- Experience teaching developmental and college-level mathematics, including College Algebra, Quantitative Reasoning, Statistics, or related courses.
- Experience teaching in online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced learning environments.
- Experience working with first-generation, adult, and diverse student populations.
- Familiarity with learning management systems, graphing technology, mathematical software, and digital instructional tools.
- Experience with assessment, curriculum development, and student success initiatives.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time faculty position. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online, dual enrollment, and multi-campus instruction based on institutional needs.
Work Environment
Faculty work in classroom, virtual, and office settings that support teaching, student engagement, and academic collaboration. The position requires regular interaction with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
Physical Requirements
The position requires the ability to communicate effectively, use technology and instructional equipment, move throughout instructional spaces, and perform routine educational and administrative responsibilities.
