Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Specialist to champion safety, health, and environmental standards across our manufacturing operations. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee safety programs that promote a secure workplace environment. Your expertise will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations while fostering a culture of safety awareness among employees. Duties

Conduct comprehensive safety audits and inspections across manufacturing facilities to identify hazards and ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
Develop, deliver, and continuously improve safety training programs covering hazard recognition, emergency response, first aid, CPR, hazardous materials handling, and environmental health protocols.
Investigate incidents and near-misses thoroughly by performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence; prepare detailed report writing for management review.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workers' compensation law, environmental compliance requirements, and occupational health regulations to ensure organizational adherence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement safety regulations in production processes and maintain compliance with legal standards related to hazardous materials and environmental health.
Lead emergency preparedness initiatives including first aid readiness, CPR certification updates, and safety drills to ensure team preparedness at all times.
Keep detailed records of safety activities, incident reports, training sessions, inspections, and compliance documentation for regulatory audits.

Experience

Proven experience working within manufacturing environments with a focus on occupational health and environmental health standards.
Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA guidelines, hazardous materials regulations, and workers’ compensation law.
Strong background in developing safety training programs with skills in report writing and root cause analysis.
Certification in first aid, CPR, or related emergency response procedures is highly desirable.
Familiarity with regulatory/legal compliance standards in production settings and experience conducting hazard assessments and safety audits.
Prior experience implementing EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) programs that promote employee health while ensuring legal compliance.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to train staff effectively on safety protocols and legal requirements.
