Full Job Description

Overview
Pooles Diner, the flagship restaurant of James Beard Award-winning chef Ashley Christensen, is on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Line Cook to join our vibrant culinary team. This role is perfect for someone who loves executing delicious dishes, thrives in a lively kitchen environment, and enjoys working closely with others to deliver memorable dining experiences. As a key player in our kitchen, you'll be responsible for preparing high-quality meals that meet our standards and delight our guests. If you have a flair for food preparation and a love for fine dining, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items with precision, following established recipes and presentation standards.
Assist in meal assembly, ensuring each dish is crafted with care and attention to detail.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and storage practices.
Support food safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests.
Collaborate with team members during busy service times to ensure timely delivery of orders.
Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or issues.
Participate in menu planning discussions and contribute ideas for new dishes or specials.

Skills

Previous experience in food industry roles such as restaurant or catering is highly desirable, especially fine dining experience.
Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques are essential.
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
Experience with meal preparation, cooking, and food service operations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
A genuine enthusiasm for culinary arts, with an eagerness to learn new skills and techniques.
