Position Summary

iEnjoy Home is opening a new distribution center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is seeking an experienced Distribution Center Director to lead this facility from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to build a team and operation from scratch — establishing staffing, processes, and systems alongside the day-to-day leadership of inbound and outbound logistics, inventory accuracy, warehouse safety, and continuous improvement initiatives that support the company's growth. The ideal candidate is a proven operations leader who is energized by startup-phase work and can balance strategic planning with hands-on floor leadership in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the launch and build-out of a brand-new distribution center, including recruiting, hiring, and onboarding the site's supervisors, leads, and warehouse associates from the ground up.
Establish site operating procedures, workflows, and systems in partnership with corporate Operations leadership as the facility ramps from startup to full-scale operation.
Direct all daily operations of the distribution center, including receiving, put-away, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping.
Develop and manage annual operating budgets, labor plans, and capital expenditure requests for the facility.
Lead, coach, and develop a multi-shift team of supervisors, leads, and warehouse associates; own hiring, performance management, and succession planning for the department.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time shipping, inventory accuracy, labor productivity, and cost per unit shipped.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and all applicable federal, state, and local safety and employment regulations; champion a strong safety culture.
Partner with Purchasing, Customer Service, and E-Commerce teams to align inventory flow with sales demand and forecasted volume.
Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and warehouse management system (WMS) enhancements to increase throughput and reduce cost.
Manage relationships with third-party carriers, freight partners, and equipment vendors to ensure service levels and cost targets are met.
Oversee physical inventory counts, cycle counting programs, and shrinkage control initiatives.
Prepare and present operational performance reports and improvement plans to senior leadership.
Plan for seasonal volume fluctuations, including peak-season staffing, layout, and equipment needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
7+ years of progressive distribution center, warehouse, or logistics management experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role overseeing a multi-shift operation.
Prior experience opening a new facility or standing up a new team preferred; comfortable operating with limited existing infrastructure and building processes from scratch.
Demonstrated experience managing a distribution facility with significant SKU volume and daily order throughput.
Strong working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control practices, and material handling equipment.
Proven ability to lead, develop, and hold accountable a large hourly and salaried workforce.
Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety best practices.
Strong analytical and financial acumen, including budget management and KPI-driven decision making.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and warehouse/ERP systems; experience with data-driven operational reporting preferred.
