Full Job Description

Overview

Join our growing Clearwater surgical practice as we increase our hospital and surgery center cases. This is an opportunity to showcase your attention to detail and ability to work with your colleagues in the office and at the surgical facilities we use.

Duties

Coordinate surgical appointments with hospitals and surgery centers using eCW, Epic, and other common electronic record programs.
Verify patient insurance coverage, perform insurance authorization and verification processes, including Medicare and health insurance knowledge to ensure smooth billing and reimbursement.
Review medical documentation, including care plans, medical records, and clinical notes to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to procedures.
Download hospital records including face sheets and procedure summaries
Manage communication with patients via phone and in person, providing clear instructions on pre-operative preparations and post-operative care plans while demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
Maintain records of scheduling activities, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and billing information following HIPAA guidelines for confidentiality.

Experience

Proven experience in medical scheduling within a clinical or hospital setting
Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems
Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and medical billing procedures including Medicare processes.
Prior experience with insurance verification processes and health information management is highly desirable.
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation review and administrative support tasks.
Bilingual abilities are preferred
Strong organizational skills, especially front desk duties, filing systems, phones, email, text messaging.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
