Position Summary
As an Ice Cream Scooper & Sales Associate, you'll be one of the first faces our customers see. Your job is to create a fun, memorable experience by serving delicious ice cream, providing excellent customer service, and helping keep our shop clean, organized, and running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of premium ice cream flavors, sundaes, milkshakes, floats, and specialty desserts with accuracy, consistency, and enthusiasm.
- Manage customer orders, upsell products, and promote specials to enhance sales opportunities.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting every guest with a friendly attitude, answering questions, offering recommendations, and creating a fun, welcoming experience.
- Operate the Square POS system to accurately process cash, credit card, and digital payment transactions.
- Handle cash register operations, process cash and card transactions, and balance registers at shift end.
- Promote featured menu items, seasonal flavors, and add-on toppings to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked work area throughout each shift.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines to ensure a clean and safe environment.
- Properly handle food products, toppings, and ingredients while maintaining freshness and quality standards.
- Ensure the workspace remains organized, sanitized, and compliant with health regulations at all times
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning equipment, preparing workstations, and securing the store.
- Restock inventory, monitor product levels, and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely for food preparation tasks while adhering to food industry standards and according to company procedures.
- Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail and exceptional service.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, offering recommendations, and creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Support your teammates by maintaining a positive attitude and contributing to a collaborative work environment.
- Help keep the dining area, service counter, and restrooms clean and inviting for our guests.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily store operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a quick-service restaurant, ice cream shop, café, coffee shop, or retail environment is preferred but not required—we're happy to train the right candidate.
- Passion for providing exceptional customer service and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic with dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
- Basic math skills and cash-handling experience.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as business needs require.
- Food Handler Certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain one if required).
Preferred Skills
- Experience using Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, preferably Square POS.
- Previous experience in food preparation or the food service industry.
- Retail sales experience with the ability to recommend products and upsell naturally.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
- Ability to remain calm, friendly, and efficient during busy periods.
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive, can-do attitude.
