Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our organization in a pivotal leadership role. The Controller will oversee the entire financial management function, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, accuracy in financial reporting, and efficiency in accounting operations. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, financial systems, and regulatory frameworks, including SOX compliance, IFRS standards, and GAAP. The successful candidate will lead the finance team in executing complex financial analyses, managing internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making to foster organizational growth.

Key responsibilities include supervising accounting activities across various domains such as governmental and non-profit accounting, corporate finance, and international accounting. The Controller will also oversee cash management strategies, financial close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and regulatory reporting requirements. This role offers an opportunity to influence the financial integrity of the organization while ensuring adherence to applicable laws and standards.

Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant standards.
Oversee the management of the general ledger system, ensuring proper account reconciliation and data integrity.
Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes, including balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis.
Ensure compliance with SOX controls and other regulatory requirements through effective internal control procedures.
Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury management, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and collections.
Direct cost accounting analysis to monitor expenses against budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Supervise the finance team’s activities related to financial reporting, regulatory compliance accounting, and technical accounting issues.
Coordinate external audits and prepare comprehensive audit documentation.
Develop financial policies, procedures, and systems enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Support budgeting processes by providing detailed financial analysis and forecasts for various departments.
Utilize spreadsheets and financial software for data analysis, report writing, and process automation.
Ensure adherence to international accounting standards during global operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA
Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in corporate or public accounting roles with progressive leadership responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, SOX compliance requirements, and governmental/non-profit accounting standards.
Proven expertise in managing accounting teams within complex organizational structures.
Proficiency with advanced Excel functions including data analysis tools; experience with financial software such as SAP or Oracle is advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to perform detailed financial analysis and prepare comprehensive reports.
Familiarity with regulatory reporting standards across multiple jurisdictions.
Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Strong communication skills capable of conveying complex financial concepts clearly across diverse audiences.
