Full Job Description

Position Summary

Signarama Anderson is seeking an Director of Operations to help lead and grow one of the Upstate's premier commercial sign companies.

This is not a traditional operations position. We are looking for a highly organized, customer-focused leader who thrives on improving processes, leading people, driving sales growth, and ensuring every project is executed at a high level.

The Director of Operations will oversee daily business operations while working closely with ownership to increase profitability, improve customer experience, strengthen team performance, and build scalable systems. This role is designed for someone who wants to grow into a senior leadership position and make a measurable impact on the business.

Primary Responsibilities - Operational Leadership

Oversee daily operations across sales, project management, production, and installation.
Ensure projects move efficiently from initial inquiry through design, production, installation, and final invoicing.
Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions that improve efficiency and profitability.
Develop, document, and improve standard operating procedures.
Monitor workflow to maximize production capacity and on-time delivery.
Maintain high standards of quality control throughout every department.

Project Management

Oversee high-value and complex customer projects from estimate through completion.
Coordinate schedules between sales, design, production, vendors, and installers.
Proactively communicate project updates with customers.
Resolve issues before they become customer concerns.
Ensure every project is completed accurately, on time, and profitably.

Sales Leadership & Business Development

Support outside sales efforts by assisting with estimates, customer meetings, and solution development.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key commercial accounts.
Identify opportunities to grow existing customer relationships.
Participate in networking events and community organizations to promote Signarama Anderson.
Help develop strategies to increase revenue and market share.

Team Leadership

Lead, coach, and motivate team members to achieve company goals.
Foster a positive, accountable, and customer-first culture.
Assist with hiring, on-boarding, and employee development.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching.
Promote teamwork and collaboration across all departments.

Financial & Operational Performance

Monitor project profitability, labor efficiency, and operational metrics.
Help establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
Assist ownership in budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
Continuously seek opportunities to reduce waste and improve margins.

Desired Qualifications

Proven leadership experience in operations, project management, construction, manufacturing, commercial services, or a related field.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and customer relationship abilities.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to lead teams while maintaining accountability.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Comfortable using CRM, estimating, scheduling, and project management software.
Commercial sales experience is a plus.
Sign industry experience is helpful but not required.
