Since 2014, we've been providing personalized in-home pet care throughout the Clermont area, and we're looking for two experienced animal care professionals to join our dependable team.
This position begins as a part-time Independent Contractor role. As WiseDog continues to grow, there may be opportunities for team members to transition into employee positions. This job should be considered supplemental income, as hours scheduled will depend on scheduling needs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Every day is different, but your responsibilities may include:
- Walking dogs and providing appropriate exercise
- Feeding dogs, cats, and other household pets
- Refreshing water and cleaning food areas
- Administering oral or topical medications as instructed
- Cleaning litter boxes and pet-related accidents
- Providing enrichment, companionship, and individualized attention
- Observing changes in behavior, appetite, mobility, or general well-being
- Following detailed care plans and safety procedures
- Sending thoughtful, professional updates with photos after every visit
- Completing basic home-care tasks associated with the visit
- Traveling between client homes within an assigned service area
- Performing light home-care tasks, such as bringing in mail or adjusting blinds, as requested by clients
Our clients rely on us every day of the year, so this position requires availability during early morning and/OR evening service windows, including weekends and rotating holidays. Qualified team members may also be considered for Overnight Care and Extended Companion Care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must:
- Have verifiable professional animal-care experience beyond owning personal pets
- Live within or very close to our service area (Clermont, 34711; Minneola, 34715; Groveland, 34736; Montverde, 34756)
- Be comfortable caring for dogs and cats of different sizes, breeds, ages, and temperaments
- Have reliable personal transportation
- Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain appropriate automobile insurance
- Be comfortable driving after dark and during poor weather
- Have a dependable smartphone with data access
- Be able to follow written instructions and use a scheduling application
- Communicate professionally in writing
- Be physically able to walk dogs, bend, lift supplies, and work outdoors
- Pass applicable background and reference checks
- Protect confidential client information and respect company/client relationships
- Practice a force-free approach to pet care

Pay: $30.00 - $225.00 per week
