Full Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable and organized Scale Operator to join our team. Will be trained to buy scrap.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Scale House Operator is the first point of contact for customers selling scrap metal at our facility. Daily responsibilities include performing initial inspection of loads, collecting, reviewing, and processing the appropriate paperwork. The Scale House Operator also ensures the safety of all customers/visitors, and other employees through observation of company safety rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Greets customers and answers questions accurately in a friendly, service-orientated manner.

· Directs haulers and other traffic to appropriate location within the facility.

· Completes transactions by providing customer a scale ticket, and documenting/inputting the scrap material received.

· Keeps immediate supervisor fully informed of all matters requiring his/her attention.

· Provides general housekeeping of the Scale House and surrounding area

· Flexibility to work Saturdays, overtime as needed.

· Other duties as assigned.

Full time 54 hours minimum each week. Overtime is paid on all hours over 40 per week.

Schedule: Day shift – All Saturday’s required

Starting pay: $20 per hour - $30 per hour OT

Paid holidays after 90 days employment

SKILLS REQUIRED:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

· Perform basic mathematical calculations accurately and efficiently

· Ability to climb a ladder

· Must be able to stand and be on feet all day

· Ability to lift 50 pounds

· Clear communicator and team player

· Must work outdoors under varying weather conditions

· Ability to speak English fluently (Bilingual in Spanish is a plus)

· Saturday’s will be required

· Valid Driver’s license with dependable transportation

· Must be able to pass background check

SKILLS PREFERRED:

- One year scale house or relevant administrative experience.

- Forklift experience is a plus
