Year-Round Part-Time Housekeeper

Valley Overlook is looking for a dependable part-time housekeeper to join our small hospitality team year-round. We operate cabins, furnished tents, campsites, and common areas in an outdoor setting nestled in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This position is a good fit for someone who prefers active, independent work, daytime hours, enjoys being outdoors, and prefers working for a small local business.

Schedule

This is a year-round, part-time position with seasonally variable hours.

We are typically busiest from April through October. Weekly hours depend on reservation turnover and will not be identical from week to week.

Most housekeeping shifts:

Begin around 10:30 AM
Last approximately 3–5 hours
End by approximately 4:15 PM
Do not require regular evening or early-morning work

Sunday availability is required.

We strongly prefer applicants who are consistently available at least four additional days each week. Candidates who are available Sundays plus at least three additional days are still encouraged to apply.

Availability does not mean you will be scheduled on every available day. The number and length of shifts vary according to guest departures and reservations.

Schedules are generally predictable in advance, but reservation changes can occasionally affect daily workload or shift length. Applicants should be comfortable with a reservation-driven schedule and some variation in weekly hours.

Responsibilities

Typical work includes:

Cleaning and preparing cabins and outdoor furnished tents between guests
Cleaning bathrooms and common areas
Changing bedding and preparing guest spaces
Restocking supplies
Occasional laundry
Seasonal deep cleaning and other housekeeping-related work
Moving between accommodations throughout our property

This is physical, hands-on cleaning work. Much of the workday involves walking between buildings and accommodations outdoors, including in hot, cold, or wet weather.

What We're Looking For

The right person will be:

Dependable and consistently available for scheduled shifts
Comfortable working independently
Able to maintain a good pace while cleaning thoroughly
Comfortable with physical work and being on their feet for most of a shift
Able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting approximately 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather

Additional notes

Reliable transportation is required.
Because we are located in the Peninsula/Cuyahoga Valley area and most shifts are 3–5 hours long, applicants should consider the commute carefully before applying.
Prior cleaning experience is preferred, but it does not need to be professional or paid housekeeping experience.
Reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn are essential.
