Tired of running ratty equipment, fighting disorganized schedules, and breaking your back on every job?
At Lawn Lad, we do things differently. We recently had a beloved crew foreman retire after 20 years of dedicated service. He built long-standing client relationships through steady, reliable, and hard-working leadership. Now, we are looking for a professional, customer-centric leader to step into this role, take pride in their work, and help guide our crew.
We know the best candidates are likely already working somewhere else. Here is why you should make the switch to Lawn Lad:
- No Financial Games—Paid On Time, No Excuses: We understand that you have a life and bills to pay. Unlike other companies that stretch payroll or make excuses, we pay you exactly what you earned, exactly when it is due. Period.
- Elite 10,000 SqFt Shop & Central Location: We work out of an organized, highly efficient 10,000 square foot facility on 2 acres in South Euclid. It is meticulously run using 5S lean principles. Because our shop is centrally located to our Greater Cleveland service areas, you waste less time driving and more time executing.
- Over $1M Invested in Equipment: We hate hard labor as much as you do. We use newer, highly efficient equipment to maximize uptime—including ride-on leaf blowers, aerators, tracked/wheeled skid steers, excavators, and an active transition to quiet, battery-powered 2-cycle tools.
- Zero Frustration Logistics: Our shop features on-site fuel tanks so you never waste time at public gas stations. Your dedicated truck is an Isuzu crew cab with a custom landscape body, meticulously organized for efficiency without the headache of towing a massive trailer daily.
- Stable, Year-Round Income: No seasonal layoffs or economic ups and downs. You get steady warm-season hours (40-50 hours, Monday–Friday) and highly lucrative winter commercial snow/ice management work.
- Premium Winter Pay & Bonuses: During winter storm events, you earn an extra $3.00 to $5.00 more per hour, plus overtime over 40 hours. We also reward your crew’s productivity and safety (no equipment damage) with lucrative end-of-season and end-of-year bonuses.
- No Corporate BS: We offer freedom, an understanding boss who communicates openly, flexibility for your personal life, and a culture where every single crew member pulls their own weight. We also love to show appreciation with surprise breakfasts, gift cards, and ice-cold Gatorade on hot days.
What You’ll Be Doing Daily:
- Leading the Crew: Manage, train, and supervise a team of up to four members, ensuring high-end residential and commercial landscape management jobs stay within timeframes and strict quality standards.
- Client & Public Relations: Act as the professional face of Lawn Lad, interacting positively with our high-end residential clients, commercial site managers, and the public.
- Tech-Driven Reporting: Use our industry service app to track jobs, log physical paperwork, and take photos of completed work.
- Minor Fleet Upkeep: Work alongside our in-house mechanic by handling quick, routine maintenance like using professional sharpening equipment to change/sharpen blades and changing mower engine oil when needed.
- Winter Storm Leadership: Operate plow/salt trucks with a 24/7 availability mindset during major winter weather events.
What We Need From You:
- Experience: 3+ years of previous, related experience in professional landscape management.
- Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a clean record (no major points). Ability to confidently drive an Isuzu crew cab landscape truck. A CDL is not required, but is a major plus.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly, work efficiently on uneven terrain, and lead a crew in all warm and cold weather conditions.
- Growth Mindset: A positive attitude, curiosity to learn, and the desire to bring fresh ideas to the table to help us eliminate waste and continuously improve.
- Bonus Points: General plant identification knowledge or previous experience applying fertilizers and pesticides.
