Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will manage core accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and support the organization’s financial health through accurate record-keeping and analysis. Your expertise in various accounting software and systems will help streamline processes, maintain data integrity, and provide insightful financial reporting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organization committed to excellence and transparency in financial management.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting to ensure all transactions are properly recorded and balanced
Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation
Support internal controls compliance by assisting with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures and documentation
Handle data entry tasks with precision using spreadsheets and accounting systems like PeopleSoft or Ceridian for accurate financial tracking
Assist with tax preparation activities, ensuring timely submission and compliance with governmental regulations
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while providing excellent customer service to internal teams

Qualifications

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in corporate accounting practices
Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting principles
Hands-on experience with financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, ADP, Kronos or UltiPro is highly desirable
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management
Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping accurately
Excellent numeracy skills combined with analytical thinking for account analysis and credit assessment
Experience with technical accounting issues such as complex journal entries or audit support is a plus
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly
Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and support customer service initiatives
