Taproom Manager — Retail, Brand & Guest Experience

Ohio City, Cleveland | Full-Time, Salaried

Market Garden Brewery Campus is a one-of-a-kind, multi-concept hospitality and production brewery in the heart of Ohio City — one of Cleveland's most celebrated neighborhoods. We welcome over 200,000 guests a year and approach $10 million in revenue across our brewpub, taproom, and restaurant concepts. Our Taproom sits right alongside our working Production Brewery — it's the front door to everything we do: a retail floor, a community bar, a stage for new releases, food trucks, music and curated experiences, and the loyal craft beer fans who drive in for whatever just dropped.

We're looking for a Taproom Manager who can take this space from good to great — someone who brings real energy, real beer knowledge, a sharp eye for retail and brand, and the leadership chops to build a team around them. This is not a caretaker role. We want someone who sees the opportunity in an under-resourced space and wants to make it their own.

What You'll Do

Own day-to-day leadership of the Taproom — staffing, scheduling, guest experience, and floor standards.
Build and lead a team of bar managers and key holders — hiring, training, and developing the next generation of Taproom talent.
Curate and grow our retail and merchandise program — apparel, glassware, branded goods, and seasonal drops people actually want to buy and wear.
Build out and manage our online store, turning our retail presence into a real revenue line.
Curate and run our food truck rotation and on-site programming — beer releases, small-batch drops, concerts, and community events.
Be the public voice of the Taproom on social media — beer releases, behind-the-scenes brewery moments, retail launches, event promotion.
Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships for retail and bar operations.
Greet, host, and work the floor — you're a hospitality leader first, and guests should feel that the moment they walk in.

Beer Culture & Brewery Connection

Because the Taproom sits directly alongside our Production Brewery, this role is also our front-line beer educator — for guests and for staff.

Lead beer education and "beer evangelism" for the Taproom team — short, repeatable training so every staff member can confidently answer what's new, what to try, and why it matters.
Partner directly with our brewers on tours, tastings, and meet-the-brewer moments — you're the connective tissue between the people who make the beer and the guests drinking it.
Own draft quality standards at the Taproom — cleaning cadence, glassware, pour and presentation. We treat beer quality as marketing.
Help bring small-batch and limited releases to life on-site — cask nights, Taproom-exclusive drops, and release-day storytelling, in partnership with our brewing team.
Build simple, repeatable "beer story" content — for staff training bursts and for guests on the floor and on social.

You Are

A proven manager — you've led a team in a bar, restaurant, brewery, or retail environment and you know how to build a culture, not just run a shift.
Genuinely positive and high-energy — you bring the fun, you set the tone, and it shows in how your team treats guests.
Beer-fluent and genuinely passionate about craft — you don't need to be a Cicerone, but you should know your stuff, love teaching it, and want to grow with the category.
A brand and retail thinker — you have a point of view on what looks good, what sells, and what fits our identity.
Comfortable on social media — you can post, photograph, and tell a story without being handed a script.
Organized and reliable — vendors, food trucks, and a retail calendar all need a real follow-through person.
Hungry to build — this space is full of upside and we want someone who sees that the way we do.

Requirements

3+ years of management experience in hospitality, brewery, bar, or retail environments — multi-unit experience a strong plus.
Demonstrated experience hiring, training, and developing a team.
Genuine interest in craft beer and comfort leading staff/guest education — brewery or beer industry background a strong plus.
Comfort with retail/merchandising — sourcing, curating, or managing a branded goods program.
Working knowledge of POS and inventory systems (Toast or similar).
Strong communication skills and a track record of vendor/partner follow-through.
Available nights and weekends — our busiest hours are when the rest of the world is off.
