Full Job Description

The purpose of the Post-Secondary Manager is to support the delivery of post-secondary programming that equips Scholars for success in college, career, and life. Scholars begin their Hope Ignites experience in middle school and, following high school graduation, continue through the College and Career Success program. In this role, the Post-Secondary Manager provides individualized guidance in career exploration, workforce readiness, and post-secondary planning, with a focus on building strong pathways into college, high-demand careers, and alternative options beyond a four-year degree.

Reporting to the Director of College & Career Success, the Post Secondary Manager works closely with the High School Manager and collaborates with the Director of Academy and Director of Residential to ensure a seamless, mission-aligned transition into adulthood. This role builds strong, trust-based relationships with Scholars, while also developing and managing partnerships with community organizations, employers, and training programs to create access to mentorships, job shadowing, internships, apprenticeships, and career placement opportunities. Through this work, the Post-Secondary Manager strengthens Scholar connection, accountability, and long-term success.

Responsibilities:

Scholar Career Development Grades 6-8

Introduce career awareness in middle school programming to begin exposing Scholars to career exploration and provide opportunities for hands-on exposure through potential partnerships.

Scholar Career Development Grades 9-11

In collaboration with the Academy team, coordinate career assessments, job shadowing, and mentorship opportunities, to support and guide Scholars as they begin to consider potential career goals.
In collaboration with High School Manager and Residential Scholar Success Manager, provide employment opportunities to high school Scholars that create long-term career pathways.
Provide individualized support for career pathways that are alternatives to college with a specific focus on pathways to the trades and healthcare systems.
Research, evaluate, and potentially implement opportunities for Scholars to participate in College Credit Plus and career training programs to earn college credits/career credentials during high school.

Post-Secondary

Develop relationships with individual Scholars that allow Hope Ignites to continue to create connection and belonging, while also holding Scholars to high expectations for six years after high school graduation with a specific focus on Scholars pursuing alternatives to four-year college degree.
Provide individualized career coaching to assigned caseload of Scholars, including training and coaching on job search, resumes, interview skills and transition into the workforce.
Connect alumni to apprenticeship programs, entry-level trade jobs, short-term certification programs, and job placement opportunities through employer partners.
Serve as a cross-departmental partner by working with Operations, Academy, Residential, and Development teams to align support, coordinate Scholar services, and ensure post-secondary programming integrates effectively with organizational priorities.

Partner Relationships

Maintain partnerships with Willow Education, Y.O.U., Cleveland Builds, Stark State College, and Cleveland Clinic, as well as build new partnerships with local businesses and contractors, trade unions, apprenticeship programs, workforce boards and economic development agencies, and community colleges and technical schools to provide a variety of career pathway opportunities for interested Scholars.
Through the partnerships discussed above, create pipelines for work shadow experiences, internships, and apprenticeships, as well as cultivate guest speakers and site visits for Scholars.
Act as the liaison of Hope Ignites and industry partners to ensure strong communication, collaboration, and partnership.

Data-Driven Programming

Track and report on Scholar program outcomes and satisfaction of post-secondary services to ensure program goals and objectives are being met.
Align programs with high-demand careers in the Cleveland/Akron region (e.g., construction, manufacturing).
Use labor market data (e.g., Bureau of Labor Statistics) and Scholar reported interest to guide program focus areas for each cohort.
In collaboration with the Director of College & Career Success, research and implement data tracking to determine the long-term economic impact on Hope Ignites scholars Post Secondary decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

 Preferred: Bachelor's degree in relevant field such as Education, Social Work, Human Services, or Business; or an equivalent combination of education and experience working with youth in career pathway programs.
At least two (2) years working with high school youth or young adults, with evidence of outstanding student growth and achievement.  
Experience with program development, program management, and tracking program outcomes. 
Ability to work during peak program hours; three-four evenings per week during the academic year and occasional weekends. 
Valid driver’s license with no more than two moving violations.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary for this position is $50-60,000 annually with excellent benefits including group medical and dental coverage, 401(k) plan, tuition reimbursement, life insurance, long-term disability coverage and 125 Flex Benefit plan.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
