Join Our Award Winning Team as a Restaurant & Events Manager at Driftwood Restaurant Group!

Are you looking to build a career in hospitality, events, and restaurant operations? Driftwood Restaurant Group is looking for a Restaurant & Events Assistant Manager to support both restaurant operations and special events throughout Downtown Cleveland and Playhouse Square. What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a motivated, hospitality driven individual who enjoys both operations and administration. This unique role is approximately 50% restaurant and event execution and 50% client and administrative support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and thrives in a dynamic environment.

Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to effectively prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast paced hospitality environment.

While restaurant management or event experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right person. We value attitude, initiative, and a willingness to learn just as much as experience. Through training and mentorship, the successful candidate will develop the skills and confidence needed to manage responsibilities across both restaurant operations and event support.

This position reports directly to the General Manager of Cibrèo Italian Kitchen and the Director of Events & Company Services.

Training & Development

This role includes an extensive 90 day training program covering both restaurant operations and client/event coordination. During this time, you will work closely with the General Manager and Director of Events & Company Services to learn our systems, processes, and approach to hospitality. All responsibilities will be managed collaboratively with management teams, and training is designed to gradually build confidence, knowledge, and ownership of assigned responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations

Support daily restaurant operations and lead shifts with a focus on hospitality and guest satisfaction
Monitor labor, cash handling, and operational performance
Coach, mentor, and develop team members while maintaining a positive workplace culture
Build guest loyalty by ensuring exceptional service and addressing concerns in real time
Collaborate with leadership to maintain operational standards, cleanliness, and overall guest experience

Client & Event Coordination

Work in collaboration with the Director of Events and serve as a primary point of contact for assigned Playhouse Square and special event clients
Create proposals and coordinate a variety of services including private events, beverage service, equipment setup, bar packages, and other hospitality related offerings
Coordinate with culinary, operations, warehouse, and leadership teams to ensure successful execution of services and events
Manage client communication, event details, timelines, and follow up from inquiry through execution
Ensure accurate documentation, invoicing, and follow through on assigned projects and client requests

Qualifications

Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities
Comfortable managing a high volume of emails, client requests, and operational tasks
Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution oriented during busy and high pressure periods
Strong communication and relationship building skills
Previous restaurant management, hospitality, event management, or client service experience preferred, but not required
Willingness to learn new systems, processes, and areas of the business
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction
Demonstrates initiative, good judgment, and the ability to take ownership of day to day responsibilities while working collaboratively with leadership and team members
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and special events as needed
Desire to grow within a thriving hospitality organization
