Full Job Description

Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to manage day-to-day accounts payable and receivable transactions. This role ensures accurate financial record-keeping, timely processing of invoices and payments, and supports overall financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

Process invoices accurately and on time.
Verify purchase orders, receipts, and payment terms.
Prepare and issue payments via checks, ACH, or wire transfers.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.

Accounts Receivable:

Generate and send customer invoices in a timely manner.
Monitor accounts for overdue payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
Apply payments to customer accounts and maintain accurate AR ledgers.
Process credit memos and adjustments as needed.
Reconcile AR accounts and assist with collection efforts.

General Accounting Duties:

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
Support audits by providing necessary documentation.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Assist with other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (bachelor’s preferred).
2+ years of experience in accounts payable and receivable roles.
Proficiency in accounting software.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience working with ERP systems. Preferred
Knowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP). Preferred
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment a plus. Preferred
