Full Job Description

John G. Johnson Construction Company is based in Cleveland and has projects in the commercial, multifamily, senior living, mixed-use, religious, hospitality, healthcare, and institutional markets. We are currently seeking a The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated decision maker with excellent communication skills, able to work closely with the V.P. of Construction, staff, subcontractors and owners.

Job Duties include:

Provides guidance in ensuring that JGJ and project stakeholders are communicating and working together. Helps to ensure project harmony with subcontractors.
Ensures and assists (when needed) that project teams are following their applicable roles and responsibilities.
Demonstrates the ability to understand and adapt to the strengths and weaknesses of teams members.
Supports the project teams in resolving schedule issues and related project schedule management.
Supports the project teams with the project’s financial management, change management, and provides guidance and support in resolving project budget issues.
Supports and guides the project teams with contract terms and conditions, the project estimate, the qualifications and assumptions.
Ensures a strong project closeout takes place in both team performance and documentation.
Identifies potential project challenges well in advance and provides support to the project teams in avoiding and/or working through those challenges.
Builds and leads project teams, stays ahead of staffing issues, ensures internal harmony among JGJ Team Members, provides training and mentorship, plays an important role in employee retention.
Ensures quality control and related risk management among projects with materials, weather conditions and related materials, both short term and long term.
Communicates among project teams and safety manager when needed to ensure a safe jobsite and related safety practices.
The ability to successfully communicate across all spectrums of the workforce.
Plays a role in business development and client retention. Represents the company in a helpful and positive manner.
The ability to oversee multiple projects at one time while knowing when to dive into the details to help avoid and/or resolve an issue.
Organized, detail oriented, and displays a team attitude.

Requirements:

Minimum seven years of experience managing construction projects and staff.

Qualifications:

Must have the ability to effectively organize own schedule to ensure timely completion of projects.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Must be able to multi-task several projects simultaneously while managing budgets and difficult deadlines.
Above average skill level with excel and project management software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able and willing to be based in Cleveland, Ohio home office with occasional travel to out of state projects
