Overview

We are a very busy, compassionate small-animal veterinary hospital seeking a friendly and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. Our front desk is the heart of the clinic - setting the tone for every client and patient who walks through our doors.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates with empathy, and enjoys helping both pets and the people who love them. Veterinary receptionists play a vital role in patient care by coordinating appointments, assisting clients during emotional moments, and supporting our medical team throughout the day.

This position is perfect for someone who loves animals, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in providing excellent client service. Veterinary experience is a requirement along with compassion, reliability, and a willingness to learn much more.

Responsibilities

Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
Maintain accurate patient records and manage medical collection processes.
Assist veterinarians with administrative tasks as needed, including great communication with doctors and staff.
Handle cash transactions and process payments in a timely manner.
Provide information on pet care, wellness plans, and preventive health measures.
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

Requirements

Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is required.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with clients and their pets.
Knowledge of animal anatomy, vaccination protocols and basic veterinary procedures is a plus.
Skills in dog handling, aseptic technique, dog training, veterinary critical care, and kennel management are highly valued.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Proficient in using computer systems for scheduling and record keeping.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to providing excellent care.
