What You'll Do
As a Quality Control Laboratory Technician, you will perform a wide variety of laboratory analyses that support production, quality assurance, and process control. Responsibilities include:
- Perform physical and chemical testing on raw materials, in-process products, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Analyze samples for pH, moisture, purity, sediment, fiber, color, size distribution, and other required quality parameters.
- Prepare laboratory samples
- Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments including pH meters, moisture analyzers and other analytical instruments.
- Maintain sample custody, traceability, and accurate laboratory records.
- Monitor and analyze production processes.
- Assist with sanitation including monitoring and assisting production in duties
- Assist with shipment, analysis, and inventory reporting.
- Develop, review, and improve laboratory testing methods and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify laboratory or process issues, troubleshoot problems, and work with operations to implement solutions.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and coordinate routine maintenance and calibrations.
- Train and mentor new laboratory team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory while following all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform additional laboratory projects and assignments as business needs require.
- Be part of a team environment with the goal of first rate products with first past quality.
- Cleaning and sanitation duties are required on the production floor during weekly cleaning practices.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of laboratory experience in a manufacturing, food, agricultural, chemical, or industrial environment preferred.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work safely in both laboratory and manufacturing environments.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred
- Experience in food manufacturing or agricultural processing.
- Knowledge of analytical testing methods.
- Experience analytical laboratory instrumentation.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
