Full Job Description

About Us:

The Arc of Essex County is a non-profit organization that provides services and programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Our corporate office is located in Livingston, NJ and we have programs throughout Essex County.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Program Manager for our Adult Day Programs.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of an Assistant Director, the Sr. Program Manager oversees/manages all aspects of Day Program services at the designated hub location to include staff supervision, scheduling, financial management, medical management, maintenance of the physical plant, etc. to ensure the welfare of each individual. In addition, ensure the provision of a safe, healthy, and professional environment that meets DDD/Medicaid and The Arc of Essex County requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Advocate at all times for dignity and respect for people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities to ensure that they are accepted as participating members of the community

· Ensure all agency/federal/state policies and procedures are implemented accordingly

· Ensure program activities meet established quality parameters

· Ensure emergency situations are managed/reported/and documented in accordance with DDD/Federal/State and The Arc of Essex County procedures

· Establish and maintain a productive and professional relationship with all relevant parties including the individuals that we serve, their family/guardians/care providers, Support Coordinators, Case Managers, medical professionals, sponsors, vendors, contractors, community contacts, neighbors, program staff, and other interested persons

· Oversee the coordination, development, and implementation of consumers ISP/IHPs

· Develop, monitor, and evaluate goal tracking systems to ensure the completion and accuracy of all needed information to bill Medicaid

· Work closely with the Assistant Director, Agency Nurses, Consumer Support Specialist, and other relevant support staff to address/ensure the individuals’ behavioral/medical needs are met

· Monitor/oversee the intake and assessment/evaluation process for individuals seeking placement at the program or transfer to another program. Assists with moves and transfers of individuals, as needed, in conjunction with other agency personnel

· Administer and/or monitor medication administration and the management of any required medical care in accordance with established agency/DDD practices and guidelines

· Hire, supervise, and provide discipline to all staff assigned to the program

· Ensure post-service training for all program staff for all staff in accordance with agency guidelines

· Provide Program Orientation for new staff

· Conduct, document, and follow up on staff meetings as required

· Ensure a safe and clean physical plant including the interior of the program site, the yard, the parking areas, and the vehicles

· Manage the funds for program according to established guidelines and reporting systems; maintain fiscal records and documents and oversee budget expenditure

· Meet regularly with the Assistant Director to provide information on the program, the staff, and the individuals to ensure ongoing communication

· Attend and participate in team meetings and other Adult Services administrative meetings as assigned

· Cooperate with DDD, SRU, Licensing, police, other state and federal agencies, and The Arc of Essex County during all audits, inspections, or investigations

· Performs any other responsibilities that are directly related to the well-being of the individuals or the needs of the program as directed by the Assistant Director

Requirements:

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent critical thinking, strategic skills, and the ability to work autonomously

· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Education / Work Experience / Skills:

· BA/BS in Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, or related field preferred

· At least 1 year of management or leadership experience

· At least 1 year of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals is required

· 2+ of experience in program development, including IHP/IEP development, with adults or adolescents who have developmental disabilities is preferred

Pay: $58,000.00 - $64,000.00 per year
