Full Job Description

Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. Ideally, this candidate will be creative, possess strong leadership qualities, and constantly seek to improve our food quality and dining experience.

Responsibilities:

Menu Development
Design inspired seasonal menus that align with our target audience and restaurant concept
Ensure dishes are consistently prepared in a refined and controlled manner
Leadership and Collaboration
Create and execute training procedures for all kitchen staff
Regularly communicate standards and expectations to foster a collaborative and productive team culture
Work closely with front-of-house managers to ensure smooth service
Continued evaluation of workflow problems to improve efficiency
Coordinate kitchen and taproom repairs as needed
Food Safety and Sanitation
Enforce hygiene and food safety protocols
Ensure all health department regulations and safety standards are met
Oversee proper food storage, labeling, and temperature controls
Inventory and Cost Control
Manage food inventory, control waste, work within budgetary constraints
Track food costs on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis and adjust menu pricing accordingly

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum of 3-5 years in a Sous Chef or Executive Chef role
Culinary degree preferred
Strong ability to mentor and lead a team
Passion for dining and hospitality
Strong organizational skills (i.e. multitasking, time management, task prioritization)
Experience with food costing and inventory, kitchen management, and health regulations

Work Schedule:

Full-time position (40-45 hours a week) with required night, weekend, and holiday availability
Fast-paced environment with long hours on foot
Restaurant expected opening date in October
Position expected start date of September 1st (start date is flexible)

Compensation:

Salary ranging from $55,000-62,000/year (based on experience)
Employee meal and discount
3 weeks PTO annually

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
