Full Job Description

Houseparent (Live-In Position)

This is a live-in houseparent position with a rotating schedule of two weeks on duty (living on campus) followed by one week off duty. On-campus housing is available during the off week if desired.

Full-Time | Housing Provided | Hiring Immediately

Falcon Children’s Home and Family Services (FCHFS) has been serving children and families in need since 1909. What began as an orphanage has grown into a comprehensive Christian ministry offering residential care, maternity services for teen mothers and babies, transitional living programs, foster and adoptive services, and a private Christian school located on our campus in Falcon, North Carolina.

FCHFS also operates Turbeville Children’s Home in Turbeville, South Carolina. We are currently hiring for houseparent positions at both campuses.

Position Overview

We are seeking committed Christian people who feel called to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and youth. Couples are also open to apply as well. Houseparents provide a stable, nurturing, family-style environment for children of various ages and backgrounds.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate is:

A devoted Christian with a strong sense of calling to ministry
Nurturing, patient, and non-judgmental
Calm under pressure and highly organized
Able to provide loving guidance, structure, and appropriate boundaries
Passionate about working with youth of all ages and both genders

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
At least 21 years of age
Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record
No criminal history
Ability to pass extensive background checks and drug screening
Meet health and physical requirements of the position
No more than two dependent children living in the home

Prior youth care or human services experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct care and supervision in a group home setting
Ensure the safety, well-being, and development of each child
Observe, document, and report behaviors and progress
Maintain a clean, organized, and structured home environment
Plan and lead recreational, educational, and life-skills activities
Collaborate with social workers, counselors, and healthcare professionals to support individualized care plans

All new houseparents complete a comprehensive paid orientation and training program, including hands-on instruction and mentorship from experienced staff.
