Digital Print Technician
SE Retail is seeking a Digital Print Technician to join our team on 2nd Shift!
Our 2nd Shift currently works 10 hour shifts Monday-Thursday starting at 4 p.m. The schedule on Fridays may vary, but is typically shorter if scheduled to work.
This position is responsible for making ready, operating, and adjusting digital print to maintain required quality and quantity of production. Also, troubleshoots equipment problems and follows equipment maintenance procedures.
What Is SE Retail Looking for in a Digital Print Technician?
- We prefer to have someone with experience working with a digital printer, preferably a Grand Format printer. Prior experience with Durst printer is a plus.
- Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints and meet quality standards.
- Ability to follow instructions and follow detailed checklists accurately.
- Ability to work independently while utilizing problem solving, time management and organizational skills.
- Have basic skills working in Windows and Linux environments.
- Understand color management and the process it takes to change color depending on method.
- Detail oriented method of working.
What Will You Do as a Digital Print Technician?
- Verifies size, color, and type of material from job order.
- Inspects and examines digitally printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications, and external defects.
- Sets and adjusts speed, temperature, color, media and carriage positions.
- Examines job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, productions times, stock specifications, colors and color sequences
- Monitors feeding, printing, and racking processes of presses to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions while making any necessary adjustments.
- Loads, positions and adjusts unprinted materials on holding fixtures or in equipment loading and feeling mechanisms.
- Troubleshoots quality problems and finds answers or seeks help from supervisor.
- Follows equipment maintenance procedures.
- Keeps count of completed product on each run, while recording and disposing of spoilage.
- Notifies supervisor of recurring equipment malfunction or poor quality raw material.
- Must have ability to navigate through a hard drive directory and understand file extensions.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Depending on production requirements for the shift, may require overtime and may be required to work in other parts of the plant if needed.
- Ability to use software and plotters to cut, weed, mask and apply vinyl and films.
- Ability to laminate roll material and substrates.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
