Occupational Therapist: Help Kids Find Their Superpowers!
Are you an Occupational Therapist who believes that “play” is the most important work a child can do? Are you tired of burnout and looking for a clinic where you actually enjoy your coworkers, feel seen by leadership, and connect deeply with families?
At Ability Innovations, we aren’t just a clinic; we’re an interdisciplinary team of OTs, PTs, and SLPs dedicated to a whole-child strategy. Best of all? We were founded by an Occupational Therapist who “gets it.” We know you need clinical autonomy, real support, and a team that genuinely has your back.
Our Mission & Core Values
We are a pediatric therapy company with heart. We use developmental play, authentic engagement, and strength-based methods to help Utah’s young heroes gain the superpowers they need for tomorrow.
People First: Relationships are our absolute priority.
Work Hard, Play Hard, Love Harder: We bring high energy and deep compassion to everything we do.
Honesty & Accountability: We take ownership of our growth and support each other.
Improve & Innovate: We create memorable experiences, not just clinical appointments.
Focus on Ability: We see limitless potential where others see limitations.
The Perks: Why You’ll Love Working Here
We believe that to take care of kids, we have to take care of you. We pride ourselves on maintaining a low-stress, “chill” environment where your work-life balance is fiercely protected.
Unbeatable Paid Time Off (PTO): Enjoy close symmetry to the School District calendar! Salaried employees get paid time off when kids are out of school, including Federal Holidays, Spring Break, Winter Break, Fall Break, and Thanksgiving Break—plus 7 additional PTO days for full-time staff.
Flexible Schedule & NO Weekends: Keep your weekends entirely for yourself with our highly adaptable scheduling structures.
Play Even After Work: We do activities together as a company to bond outside of work (think game nights, baseball games, pickleball, hiking/campfires, chili cook-offs, and holiday light tours with hot cocoa!).
Financial & Health Security: We offer stipends for health, dental, vision, and life insurance, provide professional liability insurance, and even throw in a gym membership stipend to keep you moving.
Retirement Investment: After one year as a fully licensed, full-time clinician, we contribute a 3% IRA retirement plan deposit of your salary annually.
Growth & Mentorship: Never stop learning. We provide ample continuing education opportunities and a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment where OTs, PTs, and SLPs constantly share evidence-based ideas.
The Role: What You’ll Do
As a vital member of our team, you won’t just be “treating patients”—you’ll be changing lives for children from birth to 21.
Evaluate & Ignite: Assess child development and family dynamics to create play-based intervention plans that work in the real world.
Collaborate: Partner closely with PTs and Speech Therapists for a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to care.
Mentor & Lead: Share your expertise and help grow the next generation of therapists by supervising COTAs, aides, and students.
Advocate: Educate families and provide them with the tools and confidence to support their “hero” at home.
Communicate: Deliver high-quality, professional chart notes, evaluations, and progress reports to keep families and physicians seamlessly in the loop.
What You Bring to the Team
Licensure: Current NBCOT certification and an active Utah DOPL license.
Expertise: Deeply well-versed in the OT process. Experience in Pediatrics or DIR Floortime / Play-based therapy is a major plus!
Mindset: A powerful teamwork mindset, a strong work ethic, and a results-driven approach to helping families.
Skills: Outstanding time management, organizational habits, and stellar interpersonal communication.
Physical Requirements: Ready to engage in highly active play (getting down on the floor, dynamic movements) alongside your administrative and computer documentation tasks.
