Full Job Description

About the Role

As a Die Repair Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and precision of our casting tooling to ensure high-quality production output. You will leverage your technical expertise in machining, welding, and assembly to troubleshoot issues, perform preventative maintenance, and optimize die performance for long-term operational success.

Responsibilities

Execute complex die repairs and modifications to meet rigorous design specifications and quality standards.
Operate precision machinery including lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders to fabricate or restore die components.
Perform structural integrity tasks such as welding, brazing, and applying Sparktron coding to extend tooling lifespan.
Conduct thorough preventative maintenance inspections and document findings to minimize unplanned downtime.
Utilize overhead cranes and hoists safely to manage heavy die components during disassembly and assembly processes.
Perform precise layout work and measurements to ensure components align with engineering requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace while adhering to all industrial safety protocols.

Qualifications

Required Skills

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Minimum of 2-4 years of hands-on experience in die maintenance or a related industrial trade.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and using precision measurement tools.
Demonstrated ability to operate standard toolroom equipment and perform manual handwork techniques.
Strong commitment to safety and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills

Technical certification or vocational training in machining or tool and die repair.
Advanced welding and fabrication experience.
Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic systems commonly found in die operations.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple repair assignments simultaneously.
