Job Overview
We are seeking carpenters at all experience levels to join our construction team, from an entry-level apprentice looking to learn the trade to an experienced foreman and journeyman to lead projects.
Foreman/Superintendent
We are seeking someone with a strong understanding of construction methods, the ability to read and interpret plans, and the experience to solve problems that arise in the field. The foreman will coordinate crew members and subcontractors, organize materials and workflow, communicate with project management, and keep projects moving according to the schedule, so strong communication skills will be necessary.
Journeyman/Carpenter
We are seeking someone who can perform a wide range of construction and carpentry tasks with limited supervision and takes pride in producing quality work. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction techniques and materials, can accurately read plans and measurements, and operates tools safely and efficiently.
Apprentice/Laborer
This is an entry-level position for someone looking to develop practical skills and build a career in the construction industry. Previous construction experience is helpful but not required. You will work alongside experienced carpenters and assist with general construction tasks while learning proper tools, techniques, and safety practices. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, willing to learn, and able to take direction.
The ideal experienced candidate will have a strong background in both commercial and residential carpentry across multiple disciplines, as well as experience with power tools. This role involves working on diverse projects, including industrial facilities, medical and business offices, auto service centers, and residential construction. Candidates should be proficient in rough and finish carpentry and have a working knowledge of other construction trades.
Responsibilities
Depending on your experience and skill level, your responsibilities may include:
- Perform framing, trim carpentry, and door hanging with precision and efficiency
- Utilize hand and power tools for installation, demolition, and fabrication tasks
- Safely use larger power tools provided when necessary
- Install fixtures, cabinetry, siding, drywall, and other building components
- Conduct concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry work, and roofing as needed
- Handle heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Apply caulking, plastering, flooring installation, tile laying, electrical work, plumbing, and metal stud framing as required
- Fabricate custom components for finish carpentry projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate project execution
- Collaborate with other carpenters, other trades on site, the customer, and city officials when necessary to ensure a successful project
- Assist in project planning by providing accurate construction estimating and material takeoffs
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors and other trades regarding project progress, scheduling, and jobsite needs
- Manage small crews in the field, and consult questions that arise on site with owner
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite while ensuring compliance with safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on carpentry disciplines such as trim carpentry, framing, cabinetry installation, and roofing
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematics for various construction projects
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques
- Knowledge of wood and metal stud framing, drywall installation and finishing, painting, acoustical tile ceiling installation, door installation (wood and metal), finish carpentry and trim installation, roofing, siding, metal flashing, concrete installation, and fixture installation
- Experience in remodeling projects involving small-scale flooring installation, tile laying, electrical systems, plumbing, masonry work, and general maintenance tasks
- Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with coworkers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other trades while adapting to changing project schedules and jobsite conditions
- Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds and work at heights or in confined spaces as required
