Responsibilities:

Must exhibit a keen attention to detail - "A man's accomplishments in life are the cumulative effect of his attention to detail." - John Foster Dulles
Must have own tools.
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Familiarity with Fadal and Haas mills and lathes..
Able to use all standard measuring tools to include, but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, indicators, bore gages, and depth micrometers.
Cutting tooling knowledge.
Setup, run machine and inspect parts for CNC jobs.
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, vises, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
Understand and have the ability to perform tool wear offsets.
Deburr, chamfer, wash, and package parts as necessary after completed.
Inspect parts for conformance to tolerances to avoid scrap and rework.
Ensure that daily maintenance is performed on the mill as necessary, such as topping off coolant and lube, etc.
Maintain quality of completed parts, efficiency of jobs through preparing for jobs ahead of time, and flexible, quick setup of jobs.
Thoroughly document all work completed as required and keep accurate records of time, work orders, material, fixturing and tooling.
Create fixtures as required for work-holding not already provided by CAM programmer; mark the fixture appropriately and log into fixture inventory.
Maintain a clean and organized working environment including chip removal from mill, keep an organized work bench, clean floors, maintain cleanliness of the exterior of the machine, and the shop as a whole.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required.
Compensation is in accordance with experience.

Accountability:

Must have valid driver's license.

CNC Machinist’s will be held accountable for workmanship and work habits, particularly involving quality and conformance of completed parts, thoroughness and accuracy in documentation in paperwork and program headers, timely and efficient completion of work, cleanliness and ability to follow Katech Standards and Procedures.

Reports To: Director of Manufacturing
