Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our obstetric team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and newborn. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in maternal health, neonatal resuscitation, and acute care procedures, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. This position offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative team dedicated to supporting families through one of life’s most significant moments.

$3,981 weekly on 48 hours

Duration: 13 weeks
Hours: 48 hours
Shift: Day and Night shift available
$3,981 weekly ($52.61/hr + $69.23/OT)
$1,246 Stipend ($770 housing + $476 meals)

Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN

Required Experience:

2 years of Labor & Delivery experience

Duties

Monitor and assess maternal vital signs, fetal heart rates, and labor progress using advanced monitoring equipment.
Administer medications and interventions as prescribed, including pain management techniques such as epidurals.
Educate patients on childbirth processes, postpartum care, and newborn care practices to promote informed decision-making.
Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families throughout labor and delivery.
Conduct routine physical examinations and vital sign assessments to monitor patient status continuously.
Follow infection control protocols diligently to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Participate in discharge planning by providing education on postpartum recovery, infant feeding, and follow-up appointments.

Experience

Minimum of three years of nursing experience in labor and delivery within a hospital setting; experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Knowledge of obstetric medication administration protocols including epidurals and analgesics.
Prior experience managing high-risk pregnancies or complex deliveries is advantageous.
Strong understanding of medical terminology related to obstetrics, neonatology, and critical care medicine.
Ability to respond swiftly during emergencies involving acute pain management or trauma situations.
Exposure to infection control standards aligned with hospital policies for patient safety.
