Full Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Peer Recovery Coach/House manager is a full-time live-in position at the Mile High Behavioral Healthcare (MHBHC) in the Denver Metro area. This position helps their clients navigate social service systems, model successful recovery, drive clients to appointments when appropriate, facilitate daily groups in the house and participate in recovery planning for clients. This position will interact with clients and their families while maintaining boundaries, observe client behaviors, ensure client safety and facilitate client’s daily activities per their program schedule.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Treat all clients with dignity, respect, and equality.

· Plan and implement daily recovery groups for the clients living in the house.

· Plan and implement weekly recovery dinner to increase the sense of a recovery community.

· Partner with a recovery program to bring in programming once a week.

· Conduct UAs and BAs as needed.

· Provide in-the-moment support to clients in challenging situations.

· Provide clients with transportation for medical, mental health appointments, court, DHS for support and advocacy.

· Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with Medicaid, private insurance and the Behavioral Health Administrative Service organizations (BHASO)’s standards in all areas including, but not limited to: admission summaries, assessments, daily charting, weekly clinical staffing notes, and discharge summaries within the agency electronic health record system (EHR). Adhering to mandatory deadlines.

· Provide daily updates to clinical team about client’s needs.

· Participate in “Warm Line” for participants to contact when in need of support (some nights/weekends required).

· Participate in activation support.

· Participate in weekly staffing’s with treatment team.

· Other duties as assigned.

Housing Agreement

As stated above, this is a live-in position so housing and parking will be provided for this position. It is strictly limited to the term of the employment plus an additional forty-eight hours provided for the Employee to remove his/her belongings in the event of termination. No advance notice to vacate, oral or written, is necessary and the Employee hereby waives any such notice. In the event of any failure to comply with this provision, the Employee agrees that his or her property may be removed and stored at the Employee’s expense and access to the unit may be denied by any legal means.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Familiarity with significant and persistent mental illness.

· Experience in sexual health work and/or Peer Recovery services

· Obtained, or in process to obtain COPA credential for Peer Recovery.

· Knowledge of community resources.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Education: High School Diploma or GED

· Experience Preferred: At least one year in performing client-directed services in a field such as social service, grassroots organizations, community advocacy and/or with the homeless population

· At least one year of continuous sobriety, 2+ years preferred

· At least two years off supervision (probation, parole, etc.)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

· Valid Driver’s License and car insurance by date of hire

· Ability to undergo background check due to caring for children, adolescents and families.

· Some travel around the Denver Metro Area

· Some evening and weekend work for events
