Full Job Description

Vi-Mac is a petroleum tanker carrier running 24/7/365 across the Southeast. We've been in business 25+ years. We move millions of gallons a week and our customers don't tolerate excuses. Neither do we.

We're hiring a dispatcher. This is not an entry-level seat. If you've never run loads, never managed driver hours, never watched a fuel inventory burn down to fumes on a Sunday night, this job will eat you alive. Don't apply.

What you'll actually do

Build loads and route trucks to keep customer tanks full. Read inventory two intervals out on every product, every site. Hit our delivery standards. Manage driver hours of service so we don't run out of legal drive time at 2 AM. Handle dry runs, runouts, customer complaints, and the dispatcher who called out without notice. Communicate with terminals, customers, and drivers in plain English with no drama.

What we need from you

Three or more years dispatching petroleum, chemical, or food-grade tankers. We will know within five minutes of talking to you whether you have it.

The ability to hold ten balls in the air without dropping any. Inventory, hours of service, terminal racks down, weather, customer escalations, driver issues, equipment problems. All at once. All night sometimes.

Calm under pressure. We don't pay you to panic. We pay you to solve. If you're the type who yells, blames the driver, or melts down when three things go wrong at once, this is not your seat.

Ownership. Your name goes on your loads. We run daily scorecards by dispatcher. You'll see your numbers, your peers will see your numbers, and we'll have a conversation about them weekly. If that bothers you, don't apply.

Inventory math in your head. If a customer is at 30% on Reg with 4,000 gallons of pulls a day, you should already be thinking about when the next load goes and what else fits on the trailer.

Plain communication. Drivers respect dispatchers who give them clear instructions and back them up. Customers respect dispatchers who tell them the truth. We expect both.

What we pay

Competitive base plus performance bonus tied to your scorecard. We pay for results, not seat time. Top dispatchers here make real money. Underperformers don't stay.
