About Square Medical Group (SMG)

Square Medical Group’s (“Square” or “SMG”) mission is to deliver enduring, material improvements in both clinical and wellness outcomes to patients addressing co-occurring challenges with substance use disorder (SUD) and behavioral health (BH). We do this through delivering a specialized continuum of outpatient care of 1,000+ units/week to a population of 5,000 across Massachusetts: medication management, in-person and virtual intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs (IOP/PHP), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), in-house laboratory services, as well as three levels of housing (i.e. Medicaid reimbursed Co-Occurring Recovery Residences, self-pay-based sober homes, and state-sponsored low threshold housing).

Program Overview

The residential recovery programs are structured rehabilitation-oriented treatment focused on trauma-informed care and harm reduction. It is designed for motivated individuals who want to enhance the quality of their day-to-day lives. Through active engagement in groups and the development of the community, we will work together to overcome challenges that interfere with our abilities to live life to the fullest.

Residents will be assigned a weekly life skill to ensure ongoing cleanliness/maintenance of the house. Residents are expected to take part in assigned life skills. Staff will help if residents are unsure about how to complete a task. Life Skills are necessary to independent living.

On average, residents spend between three to six months in the three phases of the residential program. Each phase of the program rewards residents with increasing levels of responsibilities and freedoms. Throughout the program, residents are supported by deep expertise from SMG’s outpatient services, our core capability. Residents are also able to stay with our outpatient practice post-discharge for continuity of care.

Position Summary: Square Medical Group is looking for an energized and experienced Recovery Support Specialists to join our new team to build an exciting new co-occurring enhanced Residential Rehabilitation Services (COE-RRS) program in our new Weymouth location! Our "Gayle House" Weymouth program is a 24-bed intensive treatment program providing a recovery home for adult females. This program is one of our newest models that will offer an extended stay and more robust staffing for residents with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders, with flexible schedule options!

Qualifications & Education:

High School diploma or GED; Associates degree in human services preferred.
Current Certification as a Recovery Coach or Peer Specialist preferred.
Previous experience working with adults in a human service setting.
Must undergo Criminal Offense Record Information (CORI) process.

Requirements:

1-year prior experience in mental health and/or substance use disorder program(s)
Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care – preferred.
Knowledge of EMR preferred.

Responsibilities:

Monitor patients, provide security checks through shift, complete documentation: electronic medical record system (InSync,) shift report via Outlook, medication logbook, and other documentation as assigned.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Participate in direct patient care including ensuring patient safety, interacting therapeutically in our trauma informed care program.
Flexibility to adapt to unforeseen needs or circumstances.
Comfort with multiple pathways to recovery and willingness to embrace a patient-centered approach that recognizes an individual's preferences and autonomy.
Responsible for using a company vehicle to transport patients from program location to meetings and appointments within the local community.
Assist program needs in identifying any problems and responds quickly to new challenges.
Uses his or her time effectively and efficiently; concentrates his or her efforts on the most important priorities; adeptly handles several tasks at once.
Effective use of the Internet and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to handle confidential information.
Understands and implements professional boundaries.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, walk, stand, climb stairs, write, type, and lift up to 35lbs.
