Purchasing Buyer

Head of the class - no matter the crop

Being founded in Ahlen, Germany in 1880, Geringhoff has always been rooted deep within the agriculture industry. With many industry firsts along with our patented technology, Geringhoff is the leader in manufacturing superior quality and performance harvesting equipment.

Purchasing Buyer essential duties and responsibilities:

Researching and identifying prospective suppliers.
Collaborating with internal project teams and maintaining strong supplier relations.
Evaluating products and suppliers according to key business criteria.
Preparing proposals, requesting quotes, contract negotiation, and ensuring cost effective acquisition of goods while maintaining quality standards.
Preparing and issuing purchase orders and supplier agreements.
Monitoring supplier performance and resolving issues and concerns.
Inspecting and evaluating the quality of purchased items and resolving shortcomings.
Analyzing industry and demand trends and supporting senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
Preparing reports and maintaining accurate inventory and procurement records.
Follow up with vendors on pricing questions when necessary.
Maintain master data on vendors and materials including delivery times, terms order quantities and all other pertinent information.
Strong interaction with planning department and production.

Purchasing Buyer Qualifications:

Education/Experience Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field preferred.

· 3-5 years of purchasing experience in an industrial environment.

Other Competencies:

· Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and strong negotiation skills.

· Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

· Proficiency working with Microsoft Office(i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word) and ERP system experience, preferably SAP

· Team player with strong organizational skills.
