Full Job Description

Wealth Management: Client Service Associate

Northwestern Mutual Midtown Manhattan, NY

We are looking for a highly self-sufficient individual with a solid foundation in finance to join our team as a Client Service Associate. Our ideal candidate will be able to clearly understand what is happening during client meetings, think critically, and contribute without requiring constant direction. This person will understand the purpose behind their work and be able to anticipate the next steps. This is not a sales role, nor is it simply a transactional or administrative role.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is currently a CSA or a Jr Advisor with an upbeat personality, detail-oriented, knowledgeable and experienced in investments and can clearly and professionally communicate with clients. Ideal candidates will thrive in a support role, assisting Wealth Management Advisors in the service and sales cycle for both insurance and investment clients. This is a client facing role so excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a cheerful attitude are a must, as you will work closely with all facets of the team and act as the liaison between the Network and Home Office, advisors and clients. Client Service Associate will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.

We provide advanced financial planning, investment management, and strategic wealth solutions through sophisticated, tax-aware planning and investment strategies with precision and purpose. As a team, we value accountability, professionalism, and long-term relationship management in a results-oriented and dynamic atmosphere.

NOTE: This role requires 5 days a week (8:30am-6:30pm EST). Remote work is a consideration for candidates who are fully licensed with investment experience. All applying candidates must meet our qualifications and job responsibilities to be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $80,000
Bonus Structure: Opportunity to earn up to $20k annually based on performance

Job Skills & Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree is required

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial services/wealth management

· FINRA Series 7 required

· SIE (Securities Industry Essentials)

· Life & Health Insurance license or the ability to obtain within 30-days of hire

· Public Notary Certificate or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire

· Solid understanding of financial planning, regulations, compliance requirements and industry best practices

· Attention to detail with the ability to stay highly organized and accountable at all times

· Tech savvy with thorough working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and ability to learn our client relationship software, clearing firm's system, and other systems

Job Responsibilities

· Open investment and advisory accounts

· Process transfers and other asset movement

· Review retirement projections and update retirement models based on information from client meetings

· Capture detailed notes during client calls and meetings

· Follow up with clients for statements and outstanding documentation

· Prepare paperwork to ensure meetings are fully organized beforehand

· Send calendar invitations and coordinate scheduling

· Track action items and provide diligent follow-up

· Keep client files and workflows organized

· Understand a client’s financial picture well enough to identify what needs to be updated/completed after meetings
