The Office of the Registrar is seeking a Program Coordinator II - FERPA. The successful candidate will have related compliance experience within a postsecondary setting, including practical implications of FERPA regulations on university functions, processes, and daily business needs. They will have experience managing highly sensitive and confidential data, excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Salary: $50,000.00 - $57.000.00 (based on selected hire’s qualifications)

Essential Duties/Tasks
FERPA Compliance Activities
Coordinates investigations of allegations of FERPA violations to include conducting objective interviews, collecting and preserving evidence, and analyzing complex information to establish facts
Analyzes investigation findings to determine whether violations of regulations and policies have occurred
Prepares comprehensive, objective reports that detail investigative findings and provide clear recommendations for incident remediation
Ensures integrity and confidentiality of incident communication, documents, and related sensitive information
Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure thorough review of reported incident
Supports IRB research-related ancillary reviews for projects involving student education record information
Supports review of contracts involving student education record information
Provides support for the administration of FERPA compliance activities
Maintains and applies knowledge of TAMU and TAMUS rules, policies, and procedures and relevant State and Federal laws
FERPA Program Development & Support
Provides guidance and resources to the university community on FERPA
Assists in the development and delivery of FERPA training for various university audiences
Develops and updates training materials and delivers training.
Serves as a subject matter expert on FERPA to provide consultative support for university community
Serves as member of FERPA Incident Team within Office of the Registrar
Prepares reports on FERPA related activities.
Analyzes data to identify trends and indicators that may provide insight into FERPA education and resource development
Monitors and responds to emails submitted to [email protected] in conjunction with FERPA Incident Team
Knowledge Base
Maintains knowledge of current federal, state, and institutional policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to student data, student education records, and administration of the department.
Utilizes university software platforms and systems, as appropriate, for business needs
Attends conferences, courses, and workshops to acquire skills and knowledge for use in the Office of the Registrar
Misc
Develops and maintains relationships with university stakeholders.
Offers assistance in other areas of the Office of the Registrar as time permits.
Participates in and on occasion leads departmental work groups.
Serves on national, university, divisional, and departmental committees.
Assist Office of the Registrar staff with commencement ceremonies.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in student facing roles interacting with student education records i.e. Student Affairs, Office of Registrar, Academic Affairs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to evaluate and manage highly sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify core issues within complex situations.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
