Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Safety Director to lead and continuously improve our company-wide safety program. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures that promote a culture of safety while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, customer requirements, and industry best practices.
The Electrical Safety Director will partner with executive leadership, project managers, superintendents, and field personnel to reduce risk, prevent incidents, and ensure every employee returns home safely each day. Our projects include higher education, municipal, healthcare, industrial, commercial, and design-build electrical construction throughout Texas.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's comprehensive safety program.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through leadership, coaching, and employee engagement.
- Serve as the company's subject matter expert on construction and electrical safety.
- Establish annual safety goals and measure company performance.
Field Safety & Compliance
- Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and audits.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and other applicable regulations.
- Identify hazards and develop corrective action plans.
- Monitor compliance with company safety policies and client-specific safety requirements.
- Maintain safety documentation and regulatory records.
Training & Development
- Develop and deliver safety orientation and ongoing training programs.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and leadership training.
- Mentor supervisors and field leaders on safe work practices.
- Ensure employees maintain required certifications and training.
Incident Management
- Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Track and analyze safety metrics, trends, and leading indicators.
- Prepare reports for executive leadership and customers as required.
Project Support
- Collaborate with project managers and field supervision during project planning.
- Assist with project-specific safety plans and risk assessments.
- Participate in preconstruction meetings and owner safety reviews.
- Support project teams during OSHA inspections and customer audits.
Project Support
- Maintain knowledge of current OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
- Coordinate workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
- Manage relationships with insurance carriers, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Support company efforts to reduce EMR and improve overall safety performance.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 10 years of construction safety experience, including commercial electrical construction.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926).
- Experience developing and managing company-wide safety programs.
- Experience conducting accident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST).
- OSHA 500 Trainer Certification.
- NFPA 70E training and expertise.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED Instructor certifications.
- Experience working with higher education, municipal, industrial, or healthcare construction projects.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
