Part Time Instructor - Mathematics

The Blinn College District is searching for a Part Time Instructor - Mathematics at our Bryan Campus.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:

Job Summary

Perform the day-to-day operations of instructional programs onthe assigned campus.

Principal Accountabilities

Provide instruction for courses at a variety of times and locations.
Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence.
Maintain access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution.
Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources.
Advise students in academic matters.
Evaluate student performance through a variety of means to measure progress while informing students in a timely manner.
Assist in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
Provide recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Heads, and Curriculum Resource Teams regarding curriculum.
Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community.
Provide information requested of all faculty.
Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments.
Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities.
Possess a passion for teaching community college students.
Demonstrate effectivecommunication skills, both written and orally.
Attend collegeorientation and requiredinstitutional meetings.
Responsible for other relatedduties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications

Master’s degree or higher with at least 18 graduate hours in mathematics or statistics; or, bachelor’s degree with at least 12 hours in undergraduate mathematics. All coursework must be from an accredited college or university.

Teaching Experience (either at the college or secondary level) required.

Preferred Qualifications

College teaching experience, including teaching college-level STEM mathematics courses such as Calculus.

Ph.D., M.S., or M.A. in Mathematics
