Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supervised Visitation Monitor to ensure safe, positive, and structured visitation sessions between children and their parents. In this vital role, you will oversee interactions and uphold safety standards during supervised visits. Your presence will help foster trust, support family reunification efforts, and ensure compliance with legal and child welfare guidelines. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and parents while applying your skills in social work, crisis intervention, and conflict management if needed.

Duties

Observe and monitor visits between children and parents or guardians to ensure safety, appropriate behavior, and adherence to visitation plans
Respond promptly and effectively to any behavioral or emotional risks during visits, employing crisis intervention strategies as needed
Document visit details accurately, including behavioral observations, incidents, and compliance with mandated reporting laws
Collaborate with child welfare professionals, family court personnel, and other stakeholders to support family reunification goals
Maintain a safe environment by enforcing rules related to child protection, childcare standards, and facility policies

Requirements

Proven experience working with children in settings such as childcare, social work, or child welfare programs
Knowledge of childhood development principles and family law regulations related to supervised visitation
Strong skills in conflict management, crisis management, and behavioral health interventions
Familiarity with mandated reporting laws to protect children from abuse or neglect
Ability to utilize motivational interviewing techniques to promote positive family interactions
Excellent communication skills for working effectively with families, legal professionals, and community agencies
Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing complex situations involving emotional or behavioral challenges
CPR certified
Other qualified area's of experience: Teachers, Parole, Probation, or Police Officers. Experience with children and families is needed.
Most shifts will be nights and weekends, great for a part-time job.
