Full Job Description

Harth Builders is an award-winning residential design-build remodeling company serving the Greater Philadelphia area for over 30 years. We're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in supporting the financial health and continued growth of our company.

What You'll Do

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you'll help ensure accurate financial reporting while supporting project profitability and business decision-making. Responsibilities include:

Support month-end and year-end close activities
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide recommendations
Support budgeting, forecasting, audits, and tax preparation
Monitor job costing, Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, and revenue recognition
Analyze project profitability and cost trends
Oversee progress billing and support accounts receivable and cash flow reporting
Review weekly accounts payable disbursements
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
Develop reporting tools and provide financial analysis for leadership

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
CPA or CPA candidate a plus
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Construction or project-based accounting experience preferred
Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and revenue recognition
Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
