Full Job Description

Purpose of the Outpatient Restoration Program is to provide competency restoration education services to individuals involved in the criminal justice system and deemed by a court to be incompetent to proceed. Job Responsibilities include serving as the Mile High Behavioral Healthcare point of contact with the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) for referrals; providing pre-release case management to participants on the Denver metro area jails, providing education services including instruction on Basic Legal Knowledge and Rational Decision Making; and providing monthly reports as required by the Office of Behavioral Health.

· Serve as point of contact to receive referrals from OBH for Competency Restoration Services

· Provide documented outreach efforts within 3 business days of receipt of referral

· Complete pre-release case management with individuals incarcerated in any of the Denver metro jails to facilitate treatment and education enrollment in the community, as well as housing support and resource navigation.

· Schedule initial intake with each referral within 10 business days of receipt of referral

· Provide initial appointment with client within 14 business days of receipt of referral

· Provide culturally competent and developmentally appropriate restoration education services to meet individual needs

· Meet individually or in group setting a minimum of 2 x week to provide education session

· Provide services in outpatient setting in community

· Utilize all elements of the competency restoration program curriculum provided by OBH

· Individualize training elements to meet the needs of the person, including social skills training, cognitive training and communication skills training

· Participate in training using OBH approved Competency Restoration Education Curricula

· Participate in OBH quarterly conference calls for information sharing/training/education

· Submit monthly status report regarding restoration education for each client

· Submit closing report within OBH defined timelines

· Participate in regularly scheduled supervision, and utilize supervision/consultation as needed

· Participate in oversight of data outcomes/reporting for new program

· Exhibit enthusiasm, courtesy, adaptability, flexibility and spirit of cooperation in the work environment

· Maintain effective interpersonal relations with consumers, peers, supervisors, management, visitors and the general public Effectively respond to consumer needs and problems, initiate and maintain positive interactions, timely responses to phone calls, email and all other requests

· Educate MHBHC staff and other key agencies about the program as directed

· Adhere to OBH Performance Outcomes Measures and Reporting Processes

· Attend mandatory in-services, trainings, staffings and consultations as scheduled

· Complete required on-line training as assigned and within timelines provided

· Report high risk and problem cases, utilize a problem-solving approach as well as feedback

· Masters’ Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology/Forensics or related field with one year related experience or training

· Bachelors’ Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Forensics with three years related experience

· Bi-lingual preferred but not required

· Computer skills (Excel, Word, email, etc.) required

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
