Position Summary
This position reports directly to the Senior Coordinator, Recreation – Clerical Management. This position provides front desk coverage and customer service at various recreation facilities. General duties range from checking guests in, to selling memberships, programs, services, and tickets, as well as general customer service. Knowledge of all passes, programs, and services is essential to the function of this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Provides exceptional customer service to all guests in a fast-paced environment.
- Greets guest, accepts and processes facility passes and registrations for specific activities.
- Enforces rules and policies with staff and guests.
- Handles and processes payments and responsible for assigned funds and receipts.
- Prepares the revenue and paid-out record forms daily.
- Maintains work area, facilities, supplies and equipment.
- Operates a variety of office equipment and electronic software.
- Completes a variety of paperwork including daily records, logs, and incident reports.
- Assist with any first aid, CPR, and other medical attention as needed.
- Maintains communications with other staff within recreation and reports issues or concerns (i.e. RecTrac or activity issues) to supervisory staff as needed.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings.
- Keeps informed of all seasonal and on-going programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is not responsible for the supervision of employees.

Education and Experience: Minimum age is 18. High School Diploma or GED preferred. One-year related experience preferred. Must successfully pass all required employment screens.
Language Skills: Ability to read instructions and communicate with City supervisor and the general public. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisor, groups of clients, customers, and the general public. Bilingual capabilities in Spanish and English desirable but not mandatory.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve and implement practical solutions to problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Foresee and initiate proactive measures to ensure program quality, customer service and facility integrity.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
- CPR and First Aid Certifications required or ability to obtain certifications within 60 days of hire
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regular work will include the following:
- regular standing and walking;
- bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, jumping, twisting, balancing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and reaching;
- occasionally lifting and carrying 15 to 25 pounds to head height or higher;
- hand/eye coordination for operation of a computer keyboard;
- vision to read written materials and understand direction;
- speech and hearing capabilities to maintain communication with citizens and employees.
