Academic Coach / Tutor – Math & Science

Location: Denver Tech Center (in-person) + some virtual opportunities
Company: Peak Learning Solutions
Compensation: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time

About Us

Peak Learning Solutions is the Denver area’s premier educational service provider. We specialize in academic coaching and subject-specific tutoring that empowers students to become confident, independent learners.

Role Overview

We are currently seeking experienced and passionate Math and Science instructors. In this role, you will work one-on-one with middle school, high school, or college-level students—delivering instruction, building academic habits, and fostering subject mastery.

Instructors must be available to teach in person at our Denver Tech Center office. We are committed to in-person support and community-building.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one instruction in Math and/or Science subjects (based on your qualifications and our assessment)
Support students with academic coaching across subjects, including executive function, organization, motivation, and study skills
Use a variety of teaching strategies and modalities tailored to each learner
Track student progress and adapt instruction as needed to ensure continued growth
Communicate consistently with parents, the director, and other stakeholders
Document each session and send summary notes to parents after every meeting
Maintain a consistent, flexible schedule—students typically meet with their coach twice per week

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (required)
One or more of the following:
At least 1 year of classroom teaching experience
At least 2 years of alternative experience (e.g., tutoring, coaching, mentoring)
Subject-matter expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Algebra I & II
Geometry
Pre-Calculus & Calculus
AP Statistics
AP Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and a warm, encouraging teaching style
Ability to engage and inspire students of diverse backgrounds
Basic computer skills and access to a personal laptop

Compensation & Benefits

Starting pay ranges from $30 to $45 per hour depending on experience and subject area
Higher rates available for high-demand subjects such as Geometry, Calculus, AP Statistics, and AP Science
Flexible scheduling — you set your own hours
