Full Job Description

The Pre-Licensed Master’s Level Clinician provides high-quality behavioral health services (assessment, diagnosis within scope, treatment planning, and psychotherapy) under clinical supervision. This role is designed for clinicians actively working toward independent licensure in Colorado (for example, Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC), Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate (MFTC), and Clinical Social Work Candidate (SWC)).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Clinical Care

Provide evidence-based, culturally responsive psychotherapy services (individual, family, couples, and/or group as assigned).
Complete biopsychosocial assessments, clinical intakes, and ongoing reassessments.
Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals; update plans per policy and clinical need.
Provide care coordination and appropriate referrals for higher levels of care, community resources, and supportive services.
Participate in crisis response as needed, including risk assessment, safety planning, and mandated reporting.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge documentation.
Ensure services are delivered ethically and in compliance with applicable laws, payer requirements, and organizational policies (e.g., HIPAA, documentation standards).
Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to the ethical standards of your credentialing board and supervising license.

Supervision & Professional Development

Participate in regular clinical supervision with Clinical Director incorporating feedback into practice.
Attend required trainings, team meetings, case consultations, and continuing education.

Collaboration

Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams (primary care, psychiatry, case management, school/community partners, etc.).
Communicate clearly with clients, families, and internal stakeholders regarding treatment goals, progress, and next steps.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in a behavioral health field (e.g., Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or closely related discipline).
Must Obtain Licensure within 2 years of date of hire
Strong clinical writing and documentation skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and meet documentation/quality expectations.
Ability to pass any required background checks and meet credentialing/privileging requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior clinical internship/practicum experience in outpatient, community mental health, integrated care, school-based, inpatient, or residential settings.
Experience with evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT-informed skills, ACT, MI, trauma-informed approaches).
Experience working with high-acuity presentations (depression, anxiety, trauma, SUD, severe/persistent mental illness).
Bilingual (Spanish/English) or demonstrated experience serving diverse communities.
Experience with EHR systems and measurement-based care tools.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work is typically performed in an office/clinic setting (and may include telehealth).
Must be able to sit for extended periods, use a computer, and engage in frequent verbal communication.
May require occasional evening/weekend hours based on client needs and scheduling.
