Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson SFB, CO is searching for a Team Lead Acquisition Program Manager for the SAIO (NH-1101-04, GS-14 Equivalent).

Description:
Serve as a Team Lead Program Manager for the Space Domain Awareness & Missile Warning team responsible for leading or supporting pre- and post-award activities for assigned portfolios. These portfolios include radar operations/ maintenance programs, base operating support, and knowledge-based services in support of strategic and theater missile warning tracking, combat-ready space situational awareness, and arctic base operations, transportation, and infrastructure. The primary focus of this role is to allocate workload, mentor team members, and direct divisional activities to deliver responsive, mission-focused acquisition solutions that enhance warfighter operations. As the Program Management Team Lead, you will provide strategic leadership, foster team development, and ensure the success and efficiency of acquisition processes and programs while maintaining oversight of the portfolio.

Team Leadership: Serve as team lead, organizing and distributing work based on employee capabilities and organizational needs, and providing day-to-day direction and technical guidance.
Professional Development: Support team members' growth by encouraging DAWIA certification training, leadership development, and team-building opportunities.
Work Planning: Plan, organize, and coordinate team activities, translating organizational priorities into actionable tasks and measurable targets.
Performance Monitoring: Track team accomplishments against goals, report status to leadership, and drive continuous process improvement.
Expert Advisory Role: Provide expert advice on programmatic and project management matters to leadership, peers, and mission partners.
Culture and Cohesion: Foster teamwork, accountability, and innovation, cultivating effective relationships with peers, leadership, and mission partners.
Mission Communication: Convey the organization's mission, vision, and goals to team members, serving as coach, facilitator, and advocate.
Stakeholder Representation: Represent the team and organization to DoW, federal government, and industry stakeholders with a professional and credible presence.
Additional Duties: May perform program management and other duties as assigned, including source selections, business case analyses, and senior leader engagements.

Organizational Awareness: Broad understanding of DoW, federal agencies, and industry roles, enabling effective representation of team priorities and cross-organizational collaboration.
Change Management: Ability to guide teams through organizational transitions, adapt to evolving requirements, and maintain productivity and morale during change.

Requirements

Conditions of employment

Must be a U.S Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance.
Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
PCS / relocation funding is authorized.
This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 30 days a year.
Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
Required to sign a non-disclosure statement.
May be required to be part of a source selection team; during this time the employee may be removed from telework agreement or placed on a modified agreement.
