Full Job Description

Our independently-owned optometry practice is looking for a new team member to help provide our patients with services and products that they don't receive at the big box stores.

Our Office Assistant is involved in many aspects of the practice. You will need to switch gears quite frequently; therefore, flexibility and organization is a must in order for you to be successful. Some of the duties include:

Assisting patients with selecting their eyewear.
Pre-testing patients prior to them seeing the doctor.
Checking patients in, which includes getting their insurance authorized.
Checking patients out which includes collecting payment.
Selling products, such as vitamins and dry eye products.
Putting trial contact lenses away.
Scanning and faxing
Answering phones and scheduling appointments
Issuing recall notifications
Matching invoices to statements
Submitting and posting insurance claims
Other duties that arise when patients require them.

our requirements are:

Post high school education
Sales experience (desired, not required)
Working knowledge of computer software, such as the Google Drive products
Previous experience in an office environment (minimum 2 years)
