CarePatrol of Colorado Springs & Pueblo is seeking a compassionate, high-level professional to join our team! In this vital role, you will serve as a dedicated advocate for families navigating the complexities of the aging journey. You will build meaningful relationships, provide expert direction, and act as a key resource for our community. Beyond family advocacy, you will collaborate with healthcare teams to strengthen the continuity of care and facilitate seamless transitions for our clients. This is a unique opportunity for a self-motivated candidate to gain deep experience in the senior care industry within an autonomous, field-based environment. If you are passionate about delivering an exceptional client experience and thrive in a role that rewards initiative, we want to hear from you!
Position Summary
The Senior Advocate is a high-level consultative role for a self-motivated professional who thrives on autonomy and results. This is not a "desk job", it is a dynamic, field-based position requiring you to act as an expert advisor to families and a strategic partner to the community. You are responsible for managing a complex pipeline, providing pro-bono resources where needed, while maintaining a sharp focus on revenue-generating placements. The Advocate is also part of a rotating weekend “On Call” schedule.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with clinical or social work experience who is comfortable operating within the greater healthcare ecosystem. This role requires working closely with Doctors, nurses, social workers, and care managers. A high degree of comfort with clinical elements, medical documentation, and discharge plans is essential, as Advocates are expected to read, convey, and communicate these complex records effectively.
Core Expectations
1. Expert Consultation & Foresight
- Project the "Expert Voice": Act as a confident authority in senior care. You must be able to foresee a family’s future needs (clinical, financial, and cognitive) and guide them toward the right path before a crisis occurs.
- Strategic Assessment: Move beyond basic checklists. Understand the trajectory of a senior’s health to recommend sustainable, long-term care solutions.
- Discerning Customer Service: A mindset that prioritizes high-impact care coordination for qualified families while providing efficient, educational direction to those better served by alternative community resources.
2. High-Agency Performance
- Initiative over Activity: When placement volume is low, you are expected to self-initiate outreach, marketing visits, and networking to rebuild the pipeline without direct supervision.
- Outcome-Oriented: Success is measured by meeting the 9 placement/month target, not by the number of hours spent on administrative tasks.
- Resourceful Problem Solving: Ability to "think on your feet," adapt to changing schedules, and improvise solutions while working from your vehicle or in the field.
3. Balanced Advocacy
- Mission-Driven Decision Making: While we provide significant pro-bono support and community resources, this role requires the professional "grit" to close business and meet financial targets.
- Time Management: Maintain the discipline to prioritize revenue-generating activities (touring, closing, outreach) over non-essential administrative tasks.
Essential Responsibilities
- Placement Management: Manage the end-to-end transition process, including assessments, community matching, and logistics coordination (including DME, transportation, movers, etc).
- Strategic Outreach: When time allows, support DBD by conducting marketing visits and attend networking events to keep the brand top-of-mind with referral partners.
- Field Agility: Maintaining professional presence, appearance and "brand ambassador" standards at all times.
- Dress code: Business Casual attire is appropriate for most activities
- Documentation: Execute same-day data entry in proprietary software to ensure transparent pipeline management.
Skills & Qualifications
- Expertise & Confidence: Must exude the professional presence of a seasoned consultant who families can trust during high-stress transitions.
- Autonomy & Discretion: Proven ability to work independently, manage your own calendar, and stay productive without constant oversight.
- Sales Aptitude: A "consultative sales" mindset, comfortable asking for the business and driving toward a decision.
- Adaptability: High degree of flexibility to work from your car, navigate various parts of the city, and pivot daily plans as client needs shift.
- Education: Bachelors Degree preferred but all education levels with appropriate experience will be considered.
Physical & Logistics Requirements
- Mobile Office: Must be comfortable working effectively in a mobile/field environment.
- Transportation: Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
- Physical: Ability to load/unload walkers and wheelchairs for client tours.
- Availability: 40+ hours/week with flexibility to meet the needs of families and community partners.
Pay: $68,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- 401(k) matching
- Dental insurance
- Health insurance
- Health savings account
- Mileage reimbursement
- Paid sick time
- Paid time off
- Vision insurance
Application Question(s):
- Describe your experience reviewing clinical documentation (e.g., H&Ps, discharge summaries, etc) to determine a patient's level of care?
- This is an autonomous, field-based role with a target of 9 placements per month. If your referral pipeline was low and your calendar was empty for the next two days, what specific actions would you take to rebuild your momentum?
- This is a 100% field-based role requiring you to work from your vehicle, travel across Colorado Springs/Pueblo, and occasionally transport/load walkers or wheelchairs for tours. Do you have a reliable vehicle and the physical ability to meet these requirements?
- This position is largely an independent role although working as a team and asking for help when needed is necessary as well. Share a time you've had to switch from an independent to collaborative approach to a problem and how you handled that.
